Vonti McRae is a passionate writer of screenplays, TV episodic scripts and reality show concepts. In 2016 she became an Online Film Instructor at the Academy of Art University teaching Screenwriting. In 2013 she won the Urban Action Showcase writers competition for her Action Crime Drama “Queenpin” and was named runner up for Best New Writer at the Action on Film Festival for her animated TV series, “Mob Rats”. She currently works at HBO in New York City as Team Lead for all Documentary, Comedy and Special Interest Features at the network. Her work encompasses the DVD, Blu-ray and Digital distribution of titles such as the #1 Franchise Game of Thrones, Emmy winning movie “The Normal Heart” and upcoming Rock anthology “Vinyl”. Vonti leads a team of 30+ people through the creative process of product development. Since 2010 her project management work on the Emmy Screener that is sent out for award nominations has netted HBO the highest noms/wins in the history of the company. She previously worked at Sony Pictures in LA as a Project Manager in their Catalog division managing retailer distribution of their DVD and Blu-ray product globally. She holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Film  from the Academy of Art University and a Bachelor’s in Mass Communications from UNCP. Her true passion is writing and is ecstatic to be teaching the next generation on how to succeed in this industry.
